In October 2016, two Service Experts centers will be turning heads with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both painting two of their service vans pink for the fight to end breast cancer.
During the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to the North Jersey Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help cure breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans in addition to giving $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.
This is the second year Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted multiple vans pink to fundraise for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air raised over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, General Manager of Fras-Air, and one of his workers both lost their mothers to other forms of cancer and were motivated to help other families.
“The National Cancer Institute reported that 107,184 women in New Jersey suffered from breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the number of cases is actually declining each year, that still represents a large number of families who are grappling with this disease, and that means there’s an urgent need for research and support.”
Chris Overton, the General Manager for Service Experts of Raleigh, echoed Schneider’s thoughts. “As stated by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in the state – for men and women.”
